Second Annual Boonie Walk for Babies!

The second annual Boonie Walk for Babies was a huge success! We had a wonderful turnout despite starting at an earlier time to avoid the heat! The weather was perfect, although I've heard the wonderful volunteers down at the last water station got a bit soggy right as the walk was starting. As far as I know, no walkers got wet from the rain though! This year we had the Military Family Life Consultant there to brief their program and offer their services to anyone that needs some extra support in a time of need.

The women behind the walk! We remembered to get a picture together this year! Maryann and Stacy

Perfect timing! A rainbow appears shortly after the start of the walk.

Now that's dedication! She came to run after working her night shift with no time to even change!
Some walkers with their kids
Some dogs even made it out!

We would like to give a special thanks to the Andersen Enlisted Spouses' Club for providing snacks and water for the walk, as well as volunteers to help pass out water at the water stations. Also for the volunteers from the 734 AMS and any other volunteers that came out to make this walk the success that it was. We couldn't have done it without you!

We look forward to seeing you all out here next year!

Second Annual Boonie Walk/Run for Babies

Who: Everyone with base access on Guam!

What: Fun 5K Walk/Run, memorial garden

Where: Bamboo Willies, Tarague Beach, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam

When: 6:00 am show time, 6:30 am go time Saturday, May 7, 2011!

Why: To raise awareness for pregnancy and infant loss, to remember our babies, and find out what you can do to help keep it from happening to you and your sweet babies!

How: Just show up! Bring your friends, family, and anyone else you can find! It is along a road that has low traffic volume, so it is stroller friendly! There will be a couple turnaround points for those walking with children for a shorter walk!

All the Little Fallen Angels and Preemies Honored

Following is a listing of all of the babies that were honored at the first annual Boonie Walk for Babies. I tried to separate a little the angel babies and the NICU grads, though a few I wasn't sure about so forgive me for any mistakes. It brought tears to my eyes to see all of the precious angels in heaven. I am keeping each and everyone of you close in my thoughts whether your loss was recent or long in the past.

First Annual Boonie Walk for Babies!

Our first annual boonie walk for babies was such a success! We had just over 100 people turn out to show their support for all the little angels! I cannot say enough how proud I am of my daughters, they are touching the lives of so many people day after day. While this event was a very emotional one for me, I am so very happy that we decided to go through with it and plan on having one next year. It will be bigger and better than ever in 2011!

734 AMS, Charles' squadron turning out to show their support!

Team Our Angels Emilyn and Hailey!

Me trying to give my speech. I had to stop a few times to gather myself, but Maryann was wonderful and jumped right in! My original speech was trashed the second I stood up to talk, but I think between the two of us we did pretty good!

Our littlest team member having some fun before the walk, she was such a trooper!

It's go time!

Me with some of the girls after the walk!

I would like to thank each and every one of you that came out and showed your support. We couldn't have done it without you! Also thank you so much to the wonderful volunteers that came to help out with the walk, you all were amazing!!

Walk this Saturday!

Hi All!
The boonie walk for babies is this coming Saturday! Show time is 7:30 and go time is around 8! The start line is over by Bamboo Willies. We will walk from there down to Sirena Beach and then back. It will be 5K, however you can turn around at any point that you like. There will be water coolers at the 1 mile point as well as the turnaround point but please bring your own water! It will be hard to refill the water coolers because of the remote location of Tarague beach so we don't want to run out. I need a few things from those of you that are coming, let me know if you are interested!

1) Volunteers to man the water tables, we need about 6 people for this, two for each table.

2) Volunteers to take pictures. I want as many pictures as I can get!

3) If you are a mom to an angel or a preemie, please let me know. We are doing a board for them. The angels will have cut out butterflies and the preemies will have flowers. I would like to have the name of the baby, it can be something as simple as "baby smith" if you did not get to name your sweet baby. Also if you want you can include the birthdate, passing date and gestational age. If you let me know soon I can get you the butterfly or flower before Saturday so you can have some time to decorate it.

Send me a message through my email: booniebabies@gmail.com

Thank you!
Stacy

We Walk For Them

We walk for them. My twin girls were born on November 30, 2009 at 20 weeks 4 days along. Emilyn was born and survived for just over an hour. Just after she grew her wings, her little sister Hailey was born and fought hard for two hours in our arms before growing her wings. They were 13 ounces each and 10 7/8 inches long. We walk so no parent has to follow in our footsteps. We walk to remember them. Please, consider joining us on our walk this coming May 1 and please take the time to watch the video I put together.

Thank you,
Stacy
